The epileptic seizures begin
Nayala is being examined at the children's hospital
The finding: Nayala has a very rare disease, she suffers from lissencephaly, a so-called smooth brain.
Lissencephaly is the result of a migratory disorder of neurons in the brain. The consequences are an unforeseeable development. Almost all children with lissencephaly suffer from epilepsy. There are also other symptoms, such as difficult eating and psychomotor restrictions. Affected children need round-the-clock care and special therapies to alleviate the symptoms of the brain malformation.

The CT of Nayala's brain
Thanks to treatment with an epilepsy drug and cortisone, the epileptic seizures could be stopped for the time being and Nayala is allowed to go home to celebrate Christmas after the long hospital stay.
