What nobody could have guessed: at the age of 4 months, Nayala suddenly had convulsive seizures. At first the pediatrician appeased. That's nothing, it could go as quickly as it came...

Luckily, the extremely worried mother immediately went to the children's hospital in an emergency. After various examinations and a computed tomography of the brain, it was clear: Nayala suffers from epilepsy, caused by a very rare brain disease: Lissencephaly and Microcephaly.

Lissencephaly is a very rare brain malformation. Nayla's brain has a structural feature of the cerebral convolutions and a smooth surface. Microcephaly is also a developmental disorder. The head does not grow at the same rate as other babies. The result is an intellectual disability.

With an anti-epileptic and a temporary dose of cortisone, Nayala's condition was stabilized within several weeks and she was finally able to go home again.

 

Nayala now needs 24-hour care and urgently your help!

Treatment with the epilepsy drug and cortisone set her back in her development. Like a newborn baby, she has to relearn how to absorb and digest food.

Despite all the difficulties, she is a very loving and happy girl and brings great joy to her parents and the whole family. Everyone helps to support Nayala as much as possible. Unfortunately, the family's financial resources are very limited. There is a lack of funds for the enormously high costs of medicines and treatments. Physiotherapy is paid for by health insurance once a week. However, this is not enough as Nayala's body needs more frequent treatments to relax. Her special baby food is also very expensive.

With a heavy heart, as this is not easy for them, the family has now decided to organize crowdfunding for Nayala to enable Nayala with your support the best possible treatment.

 

How long Nayala will be able to live is unclear.
